International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Okay I got out of class earlier than usual this evening and was able to get a few more pictures before it started getting dark.

Splash Copper pullet #1:

Splash Copper pullet #2:

Also managed to get a decent picture of my oldest Black Copper cockerel. This one is my only keeper cockerel in this group. He is getting his copper in slowly but surely. I picked him up and he has a lot of new copper feathers coming in underneath the baby black feathers. He is going on 16 weeks old.

Here is one of my oldest Black Copper pullets.. very difficult to get good pics of these. They run around so fast I cant get anything but blurs. Also going on 16 weeks old.

She had her head down pecking at the ground. Love the copper!

the eggs should be vacuum sealed. if you have a vacuum sealer is the best option. otherwise you can use a plastic bottle.
the good thing is to wrap eggs in kitchen towel and place it in egg cartoon. than put a cartoon (any size) into a bag for deep freezer (in order to be sealed well) cut the top of a bottle and push the bag through. than put the lid on. see photos:

We have a possible hurricane coming tomorrow. We will have 45+mph winds. I was out in the yard putting everything away and ended up taking pictures of Antonio and his crew. These chickens are ALWAYS sidetracking me!

@Chooks man I know these are not the kind of pictures you want. Banded and side, rear and front!

They sell these on ebay for next to nothing. Would this work better?

@Chooks man they are not what you want I know.

They are excellent, it's no wonder that you become distracted by them. The 4th and 6th photos are my favorite, was the pullet with the nice copper hackles named Gabby? She is by far my favorite of the girls.

Quote: Thank you BB. I like Gabby too! She isn't one of Antonio's girlfriends so she is not in these pictures. She hangs out with Bello. There are a couple of pullets that look a lot like her. The funny thing about Antonio's group is they don't change coops. Bello and Claude switch coops and keep different hens/pullets with them. Every night those two coops have a little bit different makeup but Antonio always has the same 13 pullets. His girls stay with him. He has 5 Cuckoos, 6 BCM and 2 Ameraucanas. His BCM pullets are the youngest I have.

Wish you the best of luck riding out the hurricane! You have a very nice flock of BCMs - you are on your way.
