International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Here is "big guy." He is on the narrow side but his profile view is lovely. I think we had decided to cull him too but I struggled to part with him today. Grrrr!!!

I couldn't get a pic of his rear view. He kept running from me. He is a bit narrow in the tail. No pyramid in the back.

Does he go? I can cull but I can't un-cull so I just want to be 100% sure.

Ok so the brown eyed cockerel, high tail, and SW stay for now. What about this one? Did we determine he stays?

I will coment on them one by one , I look @ every trait .every part of they body .

to fair to the bird we have to look @ what they where bred for ,what breeding program they come from ,some fault in one pen is more axceptable than other .

in this case @kfelton0002 chooks .they where bred to fix the tail angle .Duke did just that .
where needed some length on they back .Duke did that .
where bred to eliminate the hallo from Duke ,some succses .
Down sizing the comb .Duke did that .

So over all our Friend @kfelton0002 doesn t know she did a great job ,because her breeding program was a seccses @ high rate no 100% { no many peoples can clam that high score} .I say the program was 90% seccsefull.
if @kfelton0002 marked all the eggs from wich hen ,than some pairing are @ 100 seccses .

Thanks a lot for the encouragement and positive feedback! I needed to hear it, especially after the show this weekend. I've been going back and reading through your comments on my birds. I am going to start working on making notes as to which males to single mate to which females. :)

I explain every breeding method I know to how you should breed your chooks ,
if you are breeding to take your bird to a show where the is incompetent judges than you are wosting your time my friend .
BUT if you want to breed proper marans than take your time and breed ,forget about those guys .tey don t know ,very simple and clear .why ask thet opinion and get stress about it .I will not give them a chance to look at my chooks never mind judging them .
the person who is going to judge my chooks is not bord yet .

I want to breed proper old style marans , so I don t need the judges .I just need to focus on my breeding program .
