I told him since he doesn't sleep well It would help him sleep. He didn't go for it. It would be better than me going up and down stairs all night checking to see who hatched.

I knew I wouldn't win from the beginning. I like to joke. See what he says. He knows me and that I am not serious. He also knows if I could get away with it I would probably have a hatcher in there. Convenience! Lol

If he is a light sleeper he may take up residence on the couch during hatch times. You may have to invest in a good pack of earplugs for Christmas. We tried that once in the house we lived in previously. Chicks are noisy little things, especially when there are many of them. I had to relocate the hatcher to another area of the house. Lol

good way of thinking .
you will be amazed what will come out of the line when is back crossed to it self for many time . the good become greater ,but the faults has to be bred out or cull . only the ones they exhibit the desirable traits that line was selected for will move forward to breed .

I had a ggod look at Dark Angel I don t think he is from Queens .he is totally different to Prince ,not a same mold .
tell me if I m wrong .you can see them live not like me through photos .
or if he is her son than it is a good new ,she is not potent breeder .mean she will throw different type cockerel recording to the roosters she will be mated to . that why Prince got the white from his Sire and DA did not get it because Duke s is free .
knowing the pedigree always make it easier .

Perhaps both Dark Angel and Dark Halo are both from Malika? That would make sense since Malika doesnt have any white on her.

#4 is a lower you can go .
if Duchess eggs are lighter and Duke s pullets lay lighter eggs than they dams ,then both of them are not bred from dark egg layer .
you hens lay dark eggs .

Queen and Malika lay about a 5. I can try to hunt pictures of Duchess's egg on my phone. I was disappointed when she started laying and wasn't overly sorry none of her eggs hatched. Her egg really may not even be able to be called a 4. I am hesitant to use her.
