International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Even at this age?
Ive never wormed so young. Shes about 6 weeks.

chicks need to be wormed too . they eat all sort of stuff when you not watching .
organic Apple Cider vinegar is very good for them for over all health . I start mine #3 weeks of age .
wormed them ones a month .mine are free ranging ,so they get them selves into trouble by eating what ever they can find .
chooks man

Well, Sorry I have been missing in action! We had a bad wind storm. Tree fell on roof and no power for 2 days. We just got power back. Lots of damage! Looks like a war zone! My babies where 6 days and 2 weeks old. I was worried without a light they would die. It gets about 60 degrees at night. Maybe colder with the storms and cooler weather. They all survived but hope they don't get sick from getting so cold. Blessings to you my friends. I will have to do some catch up reading.

Sorry to hear about the storm! 60 degrees at night is not chilly enough to kill a group of chicks. They can huddle together for warmth if there is enough of them. I dont have heat lamps on mine in the brooders right now. Just on the newborns until they are a few days old and go to the brooders in the building. I use 100 watt bulbs on everything else because during the day it is in the 70s and 80s now. Too hot for heat lamps. They do fine and last night it got down to 48 in my area. Checked on the babies this morning and they are just fine. There was enough of them in the brooders to keep each other warm. :)
