International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

One of my pullets is laying a dark egg with a white "bloom". Every egg she lays has it.

I am assuming this will not go away. Will she pass this on if i breed her?

Not specific to Marans but my other birds that lay a heavy bloom they do not do it all the time. I have the famous “purple egg” sometimes. I would suspect it will be off and on. No big deal in my book.

Thank you so much!! That means a lot! I can post his full picture on here if you want to see him a bit better! I am quite happy with him. I know he has his faults but no bird is perfect and he is a pretty good specimen for my breeding pen! He also came from really nice dark eggs. Here is a photo of him. His name is Sriracha and he is 1.5 years old.

Mine are only around 8 months old. Im hoping they look this good soon.

Ive eaten the eggs today and fed the pullets the shell.

I will try to remember next time to snap a pic.

The shell also seemed more brittle.
They have oyster shell on the side.
Hoping she sorts herself out.
