Welcome back.
I haven't seen you in forever.

Good to know. I will mark them in my book and give an update.
that will be great if you can mark them ,hopefully we will end up with pullets and cockerels with a brown dots ,than you will breed your own new pure line of marans .super pure with an ancient trait . almost descapear from the modern marans flocks .

Thank you for this @RedBanks !
There is somewhere else he mentions them being female. But maybe I am wrong in what I have written down. The ones with a brown spot on their heads I have in my brooder are pullets. Never had a cockerel. Im glad to know some folks have.
I did say that some where ,in my experience and I hatched 1000 and 1000 of black copper ,they always turn up to be pullets . maybe it is just australian lines .
I believe @chickengr she work s with European lines ,more diverse and large genes pool .

This is my line#3 rooster.
Nice type, mass, color and size.
I notice a side sprig on his comb.
Comb is a little large too. Its hot here in the south.
He has a lot of white underfluff and usually a few white tail feathers. His back should be a little longer but he holds his tail lower than pictured most of the time. He is in a pen with hens that need more copper.
