[Red Banks]

here my breeding pens ; the pens are names after the hens ,they are the queens owners of the pens . the roosters ,they come and go .

Pen 1 = Silver cuckoo . 4 sisters all F1 = Chelsea , cheese , Cheetah , Channel .
Rooster = Half brother F1 = Chinatown
Goal = to breed the true F2

Pen2 = Birchen all F2 sisters = Oslo , Copenhagen , helseinki , Scany.
Rooster= Vicking F2 brother / half brother
Goal = to breed a true F3 progeny .

Pen3= White storm ( he is only rooster king he own the pen , the hen they come and go .)
Hens = 2 White his sisters/ half sisters = to breed a true white strain and keeping a line pure .
Hens = 2 Birchen carrying the colombian gene = Scandinavia, Stockholm = to breed a F1 Colombian.

Pen4= Black copper Hens 4 = Soumaya. Shakeara . Vicky and her sister Baby Oz both are F3 Birchen carrying a Gold.
Rooster = Big Blue = Blue copper rooster 2and half years old .
Goal to darken the eggs color and adding the hackle to the girls .
from Soumaya I m trying to get cockerels ( she throw good cockerel = Wallace ,Willian all her boys .)

Pen5 = Wheaten 4 hens all mother and her daughters .Margy. Mega, Morry . Madame
Rooster = Morgan = son or Brother/ half brother - I bought them as a complete line
Goal = keeping the line pure .

Pen 6= Blue copper Hen .all ready done

Pen 7 = Splash 2 hens = Sasha . Sahri ,
Rooster = Samir = Brother / son ? from the same line
Goal = to keep them pure and come out of more dominant white .

Pen 8 = Golden Salmon 2 hen = Zina and Zebra '
Rooster = Last simori
Goal = to breed a pure strain .

Very impressive! I am learning and seeing things I would have never had privy too unless I lived next door to a big breeder. I am thankful for the time you take..... I know we are all very demanding!

another luna's egg:


the 1st one is 34 grams, the 2nd one is 41 gr! getting bigger and darker. there are speckles so I bet her eggs will be darker than her mother's.

remember the first 30 eggs are the full genetic expression of the pullet .

keep weighting them one by one and taking photos of them as you go .

she is already better than her mom ,as you say ,that is a strong point .

So marco will e a same if you are lucky . he should carry the dark egg genes.

would it be wise to mate luna with her father as well? it seems he corrected the comb a bit and the egg colour although he is not perfect.

I agree with you 100% .
if you mate her to her father you will have a good portion of correct type and body color .

I penned few more breeders today .
Silver cuckoos,
Birchens ,
Salmon
Wheaten X Wheaten
Cream LB

Black copper pen ,I changed the Rooster Big Blue is what redBanks call ( All hats no Cattle ) nothing happened in 2 days . they don t like each other .
swap him with his son better copper and nicely laced blue . good type .
problem with him is his shanks are yellow ( not all yellow = gray yellow, pink - )

3 more pens to go tomorrow .
