International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

#3, He is the youngest of the group.
I did not notice any underfluff until I saw his chest in this photo.

I believe #1 is the worst for white.
I will go out and check this morning.

I will pen 1,3,6, figure out who #7 is, and get rid of the other 3 (#2,4,5).
you are saying cockerel #1 is a worst for the white ?
chooks man

@Punkybrewster how is your pullets doing and what age are they ?
chooks man
They are doing good but won't go in to roost at night. They sleep in a corner outside. Very strange.

There is up to 4 weeks age difference between them all.

Once I get the cockerel situation done, I will get photos of them.

In the laying hen pen, there are 2 or 3 hens that are laying #3-4 egg. They didn't lay dark for very long.
I need to find out who they are and look at their type again.

I will check for white feathers on the legs.

I tried putting a light in the coop.
It didn't work this time.

I lock them inside for a few days, doesn't work either.

The older ones want to go in and roost but the younger don't so the older stay with them outside.

Your boys are looking great, @Punkybrewster . Been super busy here almost done with a coop. Clearing brush out for more runs in the meantime. On top of other chores.

And got a broody BCM been sitting on eggs for 3 days and I believe I might have another getting ready to sit. I've got 11 eggs under broody (4 BCM, 4 EE, and 3 Belgian D' Uccle)

@Bantambird , he's a handsome guy. I still want to get some silver blacks. Haven't found any closer to me yet. Altho, I haven't been looking too hard yet.

I'm hoping by next spring to get more serious with the program, here.

It's nice to see you pop in :)
Pics of the new coop when you're done.

So I know who #7 is.
He is similar to # 6 and I was photographing them both as #6.

#7 has a longer tail, more mass, nice type and is
so full of white that is shows through everywhere.

And he is very big.
