You guys can see his tail is horrible. But every thing else is stunning . So I ll be using him in my breeding programs with a specific hens to get the best out of him . 2 of his brothers Copper Nile and SpringBuck both have better tails than him but he has a best body type and better plumage .

I will.
He is easy to spot. The only cockerel who looks correct.

I had the opportunity to get 3 cockerel culls from a long time, known breeder.
I got 3 knowing only 1 would probably be the best out of them all.

He has worked many years with them and has stunning Marans. I am happy to have his culls.

I didn't want to bring any more birds in but this was a chance I couldn't pass on.

Timing was perfect, they can go in my grow out pen with the pullets almost the same age.

Working on type this season, these guys have long backs, shorter, straight legs.
I'm in love with them just for their backs.

Different sires, same small flock of dames.
I was able to see them and they are beautiful, correct Marans.

As culls, they all have their flaws but I believe they will help.
Their much better than the 18 cockerels I grew out this year.

Did I do the right thing?
