International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I haven't posted him yet. Just mulling it over right now but I think it's best to re-home him. Am I correct in assuming if any of the newest 3 babies are cockerels they will throw that same tail? I'll let them grow out but if it's gonna be white and squirrel tail I'll cull them also. If any are pullets I'm going to breed to Kong. Need to see his progeny. He has the narrow back end. I'll get pics of both King and Kong tomorrow and then if you will, we'll get all 6 of the hens tagged and photos. I'd love to hear the good and bad with everyone. Who I should keep and who I should cull? Pics of eggs, also. I need expert advise on how to move forward.
I know I need to bring in better stock that's a given.
I could hang on to Prince if you advise it but I'm guessing only to breed pullets, correct? Or will the white show up in his progeny pullets?
This is why I want to learn which bad and good traits he will throw to each gender.
Yes post photos of all your hens one by one , photos from different side like you did with prince to highlight all part of they bodies. We will go through them all and see the good and the bad in each hen and rooster. If we do that I will be able to tell you how to pair them to get the best out of them. Don t rush thing one . Each hen with a lot photos to give me a good look at them from all side .
I will love to help you to breed great Marans .

Thank you so much....I'll get some pics started today.

How hard would it be to fix Kong's narrowness? (Is that even a word)
He's big in the chest but gets narrow towards the tail.
kong s need to be breed to a hen with a well developed rear and abdomen plus a well spaced legs .
hen like my LoveSong this one

Ok great thank you. So relatively an easy fix?
I'll ask you again when you see the hen pics but Joannie is my biggest hen. She's our all around favorite. Broody from last year and lays the darkest egg of all six girls.
I'm hoping she goes broody for me. July is when she went broody last year so I've been waiting for July all year...🤣🤣 Need more girls.

Hello everyone I have a broody bc marans, does anyone have any experience with bc marans as mothers, if so what was your experience😊

I've got a broody momma right now. Very over protective. She was broody raised from Joannie last year so she's standoffish as it is. Joannie was a super good momma last year.
She's a pretty girl, good luck with her. Who's the sire?
Btw welcome to the thread.

Thank you
Mine is super over protective too, a week prior to her going broody she was soo moody and mean.
The sire is my English araucana rooster, super good rooster so I’m hoping for some olive eggers if we get any chicks and they turn out to be hens😊
