Interesting that she lays blue eggs and not green, not inheriting any egg pigmentation from marans. I’ve just got some young legbar pullets and can’t wait to cross them to all my different Roos.An interesting cross.
This is Fret. She's a Marans/Crested Cream Legbar cross.
She lays blue eggs. She inherited the Marans general tail shape and lost the crest. She kept the feathered feet and is Crested Cream Legbar size.
She lays about 160 eggs a year.

It is. The legbars here lay very pale blue eggs which tend to go to off white as they get older. I would have thought green eggs as well for a Marans Crested Cream Legbar cross. I don't know the provenance of either parent and the French Marans I've seen here are pretty indifferent regarding quality for the breed. The British Marans are barred and tend to be better examples of the breed.Interesting that she lays blue eggs and not green, not inheriting any egg pigmentation from marans.
