@Chooks man, I leg banded the pullet you liked and took some pics of all 3. Their extremely skiddish in the cage I put them in and my phone camera sucks. I'll get better pics from my other phone hopefully in the next day or 2 and get them photoed out where they are more relaxed.

dark Angel egg .still laying number 6 at her 4 th laying cycle .hope some of them will hatch .I have seen the rooster mounting her .

I would be super honored if you let me name that pullet you liked Dark Angel. I love that name. If I recall you named one of @Punkybrewster's pullets that also. Name just stuck in my head ever since.

It sounds like the Marans Roos can be nice big boys. With respect of course. I loved your advice on roosters wrathsfarm! So good! Would the Birchen male be a ridiculous acquisition for my little debut Marans flock? I have Wheaten, Splash, Golden Cuckoo, and the Blue Copper/Ameraucana olive egger gal. I'm* really* attracted to that silver look. I was told DO NOT breed Wheaten to Black Copper. Right?

To get ready of coccidia you need a larger broody box , dry bedding and a lot of ventilation. Hope you haven t lost the good ones.

I will let you know whose cockerels when I get them sorted out. We've been gone a couple of weeks.

I do bring them inside into a large, dry brood box when there is illness.

It has been hot, rainy and humid for several days while we were away. After all my culling is done, they will be in one of the big pens with a roof. That will help a lot.
Right now, their run has no roof. They will not go into the coop when it rains. Ugh.

I would not worry about lack of copper in her hackle. It can be fixed with an over colored rooster.
