I have a couple of hens that are very dark in the younger group. I will post pics. If you have a great hen and she is too dark how hard is that to correct?

This is not her but she looks like the hen in the middle colorwise. Too early to go out and take pictures.

with a well colored rooster ( ears tufts, hackle. spotted chest. red shoulder ) will give a great portion of the pullet well colored and some well colored rooster.
the rooster will past his color to his girls 100%.
the hen will past her color to her son s 100% with the influence of they dad .

asilver cuckoo hens mated to a black rooster = all the rooster are barred and all the pullets will be black .

I have decided I am going to eliminate a lot of my pullets and hens that are not Marans. Very difficult decision, I love my girls.
