International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

They are nice but they have they own set of problems . the missing link is gone ( the mothers hens) ho corrected they faults. do not put them over your lovely pullets ,they will set you back . need to focus lady and work with Antonio .because he is a step ahead of them both . he carries some thing they don t have .His MOTHER blood . Antonio has a great tail miles better than his sire LP plus longer back too . the comb is a same ( you need to work on that ) breed some chicks from them just enough to keep the dark eggs genes they carries within a flock .But I ll not breed them for some thing else . they daughters will not fix they problem ,they will instead reinforce it . Work with a your, they are one generation closer to greatness . Don t go backward . Chooks man

here what I see from the photos you posted of them 2 . LP = I see over sized and bad comb short back NOT like ANTONIO . flat long tilted back high tail set plus a white on it body shape more boxy triangle shape NOT the Rectangular body shape Antonio has So Amanda must had some gorgeous hens to be able to produce Antonio from that rooster the second I don t like him at all except for his gorgeous and price less rich copper Bad comb Short back High tail and too open square body type NOT long and stretchy .. this sort of rooster are only good to breed a forward breeding NOT Crossing back they progeny to them ,because that will destroy what the mama hen had added . better photos of them .you know the score .we need to see them in the correct position to be fare to them . chooks man

Okay, so I reeeally need to get rid of at least 1 of my BCM boys because I don't have the room. It seemed Shy Guy was the one out, but I got a better picture of him, and now I'm just not sure...

Is it still Copper then Blade, with Shy Guy out based on yesterday's pictures??

Copper: If only this boy had some feathering on his legs!!!

Shy Guy:

Went out and got Mud off the roost and brought him in for a photo shoot. He is the most well behaved rooster I have ever handled. Such a good boy. My son was feeding him bread and Mud walked around like it was the most natural thing in the world. I am very proud to call him mine. He was born mid June making him about 7 months old now.

He has a little nick to the front of his comb that looks like he bumped it on something and took a tiny chunk off. Or maybe my grumpy oldest splash hen gave him a run for his money. I call her Big Broody Judy. lol

I don't think anything is easier to fix that leg feathering. I put leg feathering on Bielfelder/Marans cross. They have nicer feathering than the Marans.

This is hard. I like Shy Guy and Copper but you write that Blades picture is old. I like them all but maybe if we had pics like the ones described in Post 1407 on this thread we could see something we don't see from these side shots.

My order:

Copper
Shy Guy
Blade

He is very nice! I will expound on that opinion as soon as I get back. Now I sound like CM.
