All of your hard work is paying off. The pictures are lovely with healthy, pretty chickens and lovely landscape. I can't wait to see some of the cockerels and pullets that you choose to continue your program. I was bone weary when I went to bed. I had the tractor man and crew here again and we got a lot done. Making a new space for chickens and pushing the woods back. We planted crepe myrtles, mowed and cut down a lot of trees.

good on you go for it .

Nice fire .

build them a big pen/run and let them thrive .

Antonio and Gabby will make you a lot of great chicks for sure .

for me I m keeping every thing tell they are adult .
this year I m going to do it properly not doing any sale of the young one like I used do before .
I m going to wait tell all the pullets lays they first 30 eggs ,than I ll start selecting , that way I ll have a better idea in witch line I ll chose the cockerels .

well happy

I like that we discuss all varieties of Marans here. There is so much we need to learn and be exposed to. We have great contributors that provide reliable information. We have Marans people that are not all egg cartons and no Marans. A little take on my "All hat and no cattle." Knowing this kind of information helps us even if we never use it because it gives us a greater understanding of the complicated business of genetics.

RedBank look at this BCM pullet .she is so wide at the shoulder and she have a long back too .nice hackle .she is my number 1 pullet for the moment

she is the daughter of Zambezi over Shakeara

she has no white any where . pure black with a rich red coppery hackle coming along

this combination Zambezi over Shakeara I m going to do it again in the spring . they throw very nice progeny .
