@RedBanks
they are gorgeous . great type .well refines specimen . Bravo .
the pullet is right on the money . great hackle marking .wide shoulders and a long flat back .
the 2 cockerels are for sure from different hens .
on the left facing away from you .big boy . bigger comb and tail
on the right smaller but more tidier comb and more refine tail . keep your eyes on him . size and color don t worry about that .you have a tone of it .
comb and tail .is where you need to focus .I think this a little boy has what you need .finger cross .they change a lot as they grow .

you done well my friend

I am very happy with this chick I hatched last week from Apollo and Zanitta. I love her hatch down! That makes 3 chicks from this pair so far. And of course the polar vortex has put a stopper in all my Marans hens. No Marans eggs in over two weeks! I'm going through withdrawal!

PS= worm food will help them to lay during the cold day s of the winter .
I ll give them early in the morning breeder pullets soaked in worm water / yogurt .Seaweed and Vitamin B complex .

my cockerels tore the skins of the pullets back than the other pullets continue to peck the wounds. 2 of them have really bad wounds. I give them antibiotics and they seem to be ok so far.

I separated (3) boys and one of them tried to kill the other two so I separated him. I have no more room for chickens. the bully has a lot of gold leakage so I am rehoming him. I hope the other 2 will not start fighting each other. they were good boys today.

it is not a good practice to leave a cockerel with a pullets before they mature and ready to breed from .
I do leave a some gentle cockerels with a pullets at a high density .1 cockerel to 15/20 pullets .
I like my pullets to mature fast and nice without any physical delay .
the cockerels can be penned together at the young age ,so they don t fight as much ,no girls around .

this 2 cockerels are true brothers .a lot similarity .
I wish we knew who is the mama hen .very important in breeding .hard to be but very important . it is a 50% of the equation .
you done well .I can t complain .you managed to hatched a good number of chicks .Bravo

In my flock of young ones, everyone is challenging every one else. Pullet and cockerels alike.
