Here is the youngest brother from my fall hatch (Apollo x Sheraz), pure line A. He has some leakage and shafting but for now his underfluff is looking good and his type is good. Only time will tell if his tail will get any higher. He is a very tame and gentle fella. I can pick him up and hold him anytime. He's a sweetie.

And here is his dam, Sheraz. She is my biggest Marans hen. The youngest brother inherited her long back.

He isn't clean legged, he has sparsely feathered legs. The pic just doesn't show it well. They aren't well feathered but they are feathered some. Sparsely feathered shanks crop up in my lines also.

I think it is common for this to show up. I have one splash out of my last hatch that has very few feathers on its shanks. I think it's a pullet.

Last time I had marans chicks my broody raised them so I didn't get this. I also have 2 polish, 2 salmon faverolles, and 6 chipmunk ones that are 3 breeds I can't tell who is what - but these marans are my fave. Well,,, the faverolles are super sweet too. But these chicks have confidence and sweetness. I can't help but cuddle them

All day long I listen to coworkers gush about their kids and I can't relate (mine are goats) and when people ask I sometimes say "yes I have 3 kids. 1 has been castrated twice and 2 had morning after shots but they are better off now". So... thanks for giving me a place to relate! I'll be asking for more feedback in a month or so

No, I bought it at a store with a M! She messed up. She had to honor the % off that she told me. I waited about 3 weeks to get it that cheap.

You are a hoot I swear! Your birds are already nice! I look at the tail angles and type of your birds and just drool! Very good quality in your stock.
