International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

this is the reply from chook's friend:

Jose is fine. We have been very busy lately as we have sold all of our Marans. They went all over Australia and all sold within 3 weeks to eager buyers. We are both happy that the breeding lines will be maintained especially as one woman took 48 of them with all the possibilities of creating more, thanks to Jose's 3 year breeding plan.
I will let him know that you have contacted me and that you have been concerned.

Wow things happen fast in Australia. He did say he planned to sell his farm eventually anyway as he wasn't attached - wanted more land. He also said he was offered a fair price and the people that made the offer wanted the business. I am a little surprised he sold all of his birds though. That must have been a hard decision for him.

Sounds like Chooks man is retiring from breeding his beloved Marans. Hopefully he will still visit us on this thread from time to time. :(

I asked if they kept breeders for the future but didn't get any answer yet.

if chooks wants more land I guess he will not give up breeding marans. their aim was to preserve this breed. there were no good marans in australia.

he was working on a new colour - quail marans. I don't think he would give it up. he also planned to create marans/naked neck - marneck. I hope he will be back soon. as I am about to move I know how busy it can be.

I hope your move goes well and your barns are over flowing with Marans! Blessings to you! I hope you keep in touch with us! We have a good group and when one is gone it just doesn't feel the same. I don't know if I could handle missing two of my friends.

HERE WE GO AGAIN
