Antonio and his little flock. He got all the pretty girls! You can still see the missing hackle feathers and messed up comb from the fight with Bello.

nice type silver cuckoo pullets you have there.
they will make a good much to all your BCM roosters to recreate your own Golden cuckoo marans proper one ER/ER. s+/s+, B/B ,Pti1/Pti1. Id/Id , Mh/Mh ..etc..........we have all the genes you needs to do that . will be great asset for the marans breeds.

last photo= pullet 1 on the left ( she look like she passed a 3Kg 6.6Ib to me ) she is going to be a huge hen like my Channel ( silver cuckoo 3.8Kg .)
she s deep and wide . strong neck. great type .

One problem is her tail is set too high and to fluffy at the base .

pul2 on the right = she is long and a little thinner compared to pul1 .
nice long back and well positioned tail . nicely formed . better hackle and well colored ears tufts ( well colored progeny if mated to any of your 3 rooster)

Photo 2= pul 3 on the right facing a camera. long same type to pul 2 . great tail Angle ( pointing backward not up )

pul 4 on the far left she look to me similar to pul 1 well chunky .

they are a good English strain I can tell. Uniform cuckoo ( not a French Silver cuckoo CCA coucou a camail argente')

you can t go wrong with this sort of project . Great parent stock as P1 PARENT;

let me if you are interested in recreating the GCM . chance of life time 3 years of work with a good planning and you will have one of the greatest GCM line. I will help you do t .I m doing it my self.

great color.and need our help.

She is quite a long bird, I was almost worried that was a bad thing as most I have seen are more wide and short in length. I was happy to hear that it could be a asset. Almost all my hens could use a well marked rooster. Kind of ironic that the average chicken keeper dreads roosters and we are all trying to get enough to end up with a few nice ones haha.

We need long chooks NOT square .

that why we want a long flat and wide back NOT short

long back with well positioned legs will give a DEEP and WIDE chest ( good meaty breast -Dual purpose breed ) this sort of traits are related in genetic.

Roosters for a chooks breeders are a night mere .they fight . they don t lay eggs. they take a space and Bla bla.BUT we can t get enough of them like you said.

my ratio now is 1 rooster to 2 hens. I ll like 2 rooster to 3 hens . great breeding ratio to have

I have now plus 60 breeders hens and plus 30 breeders Roosters.

Also ironic that our hens have no color and they keep telling us to get rid of our roosters with some color on the breast. Then they lament hens with no copper hackles.

Hi RedBank it is easy to know how much color the black is hiding underneath . Cross her to a Dominant white rooster ( white leghorn ) = if she is pure black ,than all her F1 progeny will be white .if she is a bad black copper ( Black copper without hackle ) all the F1 cockerels will be White Copper .NOT pure white. maybe the pattern will be not defined but the copper will be there.

Dominant white genes will convert the black plumage to white BUT does not affect the copper or the silver ( both are sex linked ) .

So the black hen s are not really black but a bad black copper.

ROOSTER HAS TO BE COLORFUL

if they have not enough colors than we ll end up having a lot black hens . like we are having now . Every where in every country .NOT normal . WE have to go back to the originality of the standard .

that why they had a Black copper 100 years ago not a black hen s

bad news from greece: eggs arrived, a lot of them broken, the other ones gone bad. they probably were left for hours at the airport at 40+ celsius. only 6 black copper eggs might be good. I guess summer is not good time to post eggs to greece. it is such a waste.

when I shake eggs they are bouncing inside like the once that didn't hatch. if they don't bounce a lot is there any chance they hatch?

if they bounce than they are not good any more.

Post peoples are rough peoples they can not be trusted .

I know that very well . I work with them all the time. they are worst than the foxes .

we ll organize it better next breeding season a lot eggs to go around. we ll find a better way .
