I have my boy seperated with the girls now. They've joined the turkeys in their coop for the breeding season. The girls have had nice red combs and waddles for a while now but I'm still waiting on eggs. I'm dying to see how dark their eggs will be!

don t to worry about his ears tufts they ll turn coppery for sure . he is loaded with the Autossome genes .

I got my first egg today from one of my BCM ladies. It's not overly dark :/ Can it take a couple eggs before true color shows? It's getting late here so I'll get a picture tomorrow but I'm just curious.

Yeah my pullets started out kinda light-ish then their eggs darken up and get bigger with each subsequent egg. It takes a bit for them to get the kinks worked out. My FRF x LA pullets started out around a 4ish maybe even a little lighter and some are now are laying solid 5's. Hoping they get even darker.
