if you want large hens hatch the biggest eggs. size of the chicks depend on the hen /egg only. chooks told me to keep as a breeder the smallest cockerel as he was the best one otherwise and to hatch the biggest eggs only.
your boy is good otherwise than his size. wait to see if his comb will chage.
Your birds are way nicer than alot of birds i see with ribbons hanging next to them. watch out Bev Davis, here comes kayla.

I hope you are right his comb is pretty crazy. I respect Chooksman immensely but I have to believe that a large rooster will pass those size genes on to his progeny. I’m not sure what egg he came out of but some of @kfelton0002 eggs were very large and I assume he came from one of those. Other than his comb he’s got great traits.

I shared photos of our single BCM chick several weeks ago - y'all were so helpful! The responses were mixed on the sex but most thought my chick was a pullet. I just took a new photo, pretty sure it definitely is a he but just wanted to hear it from the experts. Will be 8 weeks in a few days.

are those side sprigs? if so, I am afraid you should not breed him. side sprigs would ruin the whole line. can you post more pics of his comb? the more experienced ones will tell you what to do.
