@Chooks man
Thank you. I will get more pics today, hopefully it’s not raining. The relation of this hen:

Rudy and Day Walker (I like that) are not related to her at all. None of our big hens are. Most of the chicks Rudy sired.
Rudy is from a place in Washington called Willow Ridge Farm. You can look them up on Facebook and they have some pics of their Marans.

On the pullet Shazia (I adore that name)
I’m so glad you like her. She stands out from the rest of them, I love her size. Such a proud bird.

pleased you like the names .

I had a look at willow ridge farm face book page .they have a black copper rooster look like Rudy . maybe his father or brother . exact a same look . there is a little golden on the bottom of they rooster hackle .
some thing you need to work on .I ll show how to do .
willow ridge farm black copper line are bred for elegance .they all show the same proud stand like they own the place . great trait to have .

it is great that your chooks are not related .you can start yuor line without getting inbred quickly .

Rudy and Day Walker complete each other well. Rudy has a great body type and body marking .Day Walker has a correct rich copper and extra Melanin .when they future progeny will be bred together to form RL/DWL line ,I don t think you ll see any fault for sure .you have to select well . they are going to produce a great progeny ,is up to you how you select and work with them .
don t add any new chooks to them .you have a great flock to work with .

Thank you, I am hoping for help from my friends. That know much more than I do and have a better eye. Wink wink!

Oh my gosh thank you so much! We’ve been really lucky with good starting stock. If you’d like, I can get individual pics of everyone tomorrow. Again, thank you so much!
I "disrembered"again, what side of Wash state are you on? Judging by the green grass in the field I would say Western Wash. You have great birds, I agree with all that Chooks Man said. This spring when ever you are hatching I would be interested in some of these genes!! The comb on the young cockerel is the best I have ever seen!! He also has great copper. TOM
