unfortunately I have seen it. I keep telling my friend to keep cockerels separate from pullets.

@chickengr - Good good to know that I’m not the only one that has seen this behavior. I usually separate cockerels and pullets @ 3 months old at which time I introduce a couple of mature hens to establish & maintain good chicken behavior. Take Care, Keith

here Is my favorite roo. Hoping he doesn’t develop a halo. Not the best type or comb but he’s lots of coloring and copper ear tufts. What do the pros think? They are 4 months old View attachment 1848165View attachment 1848170

@BenTN - A well colored BCM Coq of average type is better than an average colored BCM Coq of good type. He’s coloring up nicely and looking forward to seeing him at 9 months old. You won’t see his true color until after his first adult molt at 18 months old. Well Done, Keith

@BenTN - Nice pullets! I really like the Pullet in the back right - she has really nice type, topline and tail (good angle, short and pointed). You will want to mate her to a well colored Coq with copper ear tuffs and a solid red shoulder - ok if the Coqs copper is on the lighter side as she’ll help darken the copper on her male progeny. very very nice .pore white and great type .the comb need a little work but no problem for now . he has too many great qualities . love his feet .white/pink and well feathered .
love every thing about him .

correct body type
correct plumage pure white and free from any fluff ,
his body is well balanced on both side .
leg well space and well feathered ,correct colour .
correct tail. small ,full at based thin at closed at the top .
correct head ,
great neck ,very strong .
love evry thing about him .

from this photos I can not find any fault .except his comb .every thing else is 10/10 .
his great asset are his body type
his head
his tail .the one you die for ,
the purity end the type of his plumage.

will be very easier for you to breed his to his mama hen .you ll end up with the best White marans in USA .

great body pattern ,complete ,
good quality copper maybe a little lighter at the bottom of his hackle ,
great head ,his comb has three long point at the midle . no good . but good type comb .not too big love the size ,
nice tail ,a little longer and higher
nice size feet ,well coloured and feathered .

he is good breeder for sure .
