I have very good news . a had a visit from a friend of mine haven t seen for a while ,he brought with him a gift .guess what .
1 pair of wheaten .great type pullet .start laying .
and 1 gorgeous Silver cuckoo double barred cockerel , from Import stock . he is stunning .dark eggs genes carrier .

here my comment .
those 2 come from inbred line .they look a like . same phenotype .
both have a correct body type .long ,thick ,solid .well chunky with a deep chest .
both have a correct head .
#1 has better feet feathering
#2 has a better hackle marking , more copper .

both have a same fault .they comb .has a correct number of points but it is split and the middle 2 points are joints . forming M type double point .

so far so good .I like them both .they have a lot good stuff going for them ,just have to wait for them to grow more and see how they colour up .

I have five more chicks I’m waiting to show me their genders. These two are just part of my original four.

They come from another line so once they gender out I’ll hopefully have more male options.

here the list of traits we look for at this age . taking cockerel #1 as an example .
1}body type .long ,chunky not too tall . #1 correct
2} head .thick .robust ,a little shorter . not thin and long like legbar . #1 correct
3}Beak short and strong not long and thin . not all black ,#1 correct
4} Eyes .bright orange .#1 correct
5} Comb .gross texture , small with correct number of point .all in the same line and in harmony with each other .no M .no Double points Plus the rear of the comb should be lifted from the head . #1 Fault . points are not in the same line .split comb .the rear is touching the head .
6}Wattles ,small ,round free from any folding or splitting ,#1 correct
7} Neck .strong .a little longer and arched .some copper be showing up at this stage . #1 correct
8} Back .long ,wide all the way tell the tail . a little tilted .#1 correct
9} Chest deep and wide .#1 correct
10}Tail .small and full .Early feathering type better . #1 correct
11} Feet / medium size not too tall neither too short .well feathered .greyish colour with a pinkish hues plus they have to be thick and solid. #1 correct
12} Plumage . not fluffy all black with some copper hues around the neck and around shoulder area .#1 correct
13} The Stand { body carriage } up right ,and elegant . not goofy neither tilted toward the front . #1 correct

#2 is as correct as #1 . both of them are of a same quality .

that what we look for at 8 to 10 weeks of age .

received today a email from Top Knot Poultry Supply . sale office of Brinsea in OZ .they received my incubator 380 advance EX Series from GB .will be delivered next week .
plus egg candler and Thermometer .

Oh yeah .I ll have a lot of eggs to incubate . it is the end of winter down under here in OZ .so breeding season just started .
I ll receive the incubator next week ,need few day to calibrate it AND the week after I ll fill up .
ordered more marans cuckoo eggs and some La Fleche french chooks .
