Maybe I should keep him through the winter. Just incase I lose one. If I get rid of my Whites. It would give me two pens to work with Birchen. Would I need to keep one of the other roosters?just the 2 stunning cockerels you have ,you don t need the original roo .

I will need to cull. I don't know how many Birchen I have but quite a few. Lots of Whites!@

I looked on my records and all three Birchen cockerels that hatched where the only 3 that hatched from pen one. Pen 1 rooster was the one we butchered. All the pullets hatched from pen two.@

Pen with best Birchen hens. I only have one or 2 Birchen hens. The rest are Blue Birchen. Is that ok?Ah good to know .
keep the pullets from pen 2 and pen them with they sire . original rooster .
pair a Blue cockerel with 2 or 3 of your best birchen hens .
less hens in the pen is better 2 or 3 will give a good result ,because it is easy to reconize each hen eggs ,very important when breeding .
keep only the best , get ready { cull } the rest .
