give them more rest .don t rush thing up .you are breeding for quality .over all condition of the hens and the size of the eggs is very important .no way around it .
if the pullets are not ready than breed Malika/Queen first with DA that will give a pullets a time to fully grow . than romove the hens and breed the pullet . 2 set of 2 hens/pullets and 3 cockerels . 6 trios combination breeding in 4 stages . straight forward .20 chicks of each pair will give oyu 120 chicks roughlly high quality pairing.breeding .
Hens .Queen and Malika
Pullets . Perfect and nice hackle one I like the one you showed .
Cockerel .Prince .Dark Angel and Vortex . that is your breeding flock if I was working with your bird .
I will give Duke a rest and I will test Duches with all 3 cockerels to see how goes without interfering with a main breeding program .your hens line .
chooks man
So I will not be needing Duke this year? I can pen him by himself then on my next set of days off.
I think Duchess would pair well with Vortex as she has a low tail angle. I may try that first. I can trio mate him to Duchess and another female simultaneously as I know what Duchess's eggs look like. The well colored pullet I showed has a low tail as well. She may be a good match for Vortex also. Perfect still is rather immature, I looked at her yesterday but couldn't get good pics because she was wet. Her comb is still small.
