Looking good @Bantambird .

I miss @Chooks man too.

My chosen young BCM cockerels are growing out. When I have more time, I will post some pictures of them. I plan to choose 5 out of 10. I started with 25.

All my pullets and hens are lovely but will begin to cull this fall or early spring. Gotta keep everything manageable.

I Hope everyone is doing well.

Its been so busy for me the last few months. I have not been here for a while and I am sure most everyone else has been busy too since this thread has been very slow lately.

If it wasn't a windy day they would probably pose better. Some of this year's pullets, daddy Jean, a few cockerels and one yearling hen.

Very nice! I am a little confused who is who. Is the hen in the 2nd picture the same as the 4th picture and the last picture?

They are different pullets, the banded one is a hen

marans I bought in june have some health issue. half of them died and 2 bc pullets and 2 bc cockerels are still alive but in bad condition. 1 cuckoo cockerel is fine but no ladies for him.

Keep posting. We are still here. Poor chooks man has been experiencing real world issues in Australia but this thread has many folks on it that can help. I plan on eventually showing my birds, especially the whites, once I am able to. I'll likely learn a lot more out on the road. Montana has very limited shows so it will probably happen when the kids are old enough.

Where are you in Montana? I gifted my mom some BCMs for breeding as pullets and she lives up there. I might bring her a couple more this summer but she had a hard time finding them up there. So far she has only produced one chick but the eggs are nice and dark.

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time with your Marans. I hope you can get them going and they stay healthy. It has been pretty ruff here too. I am down to one BC rooster and 2 BLCM cockerels. I am ok on the hens so far. I am hoping I don't lose any through the winter.

Billings, but I only have the black silvers, no black coppers. There is never a very active forum for black silver Marans so I have glommed onto this one as my Marans posting home. I still have some pullets available, and I am probably going to butcher the extra cockerels within the next month if they don't find new homes.

I guess all of us are animal lovers. any animal should be welcome her - at least for me.
