Since this pen does not have the darkest eggs, I kept #167 who I discovered lays a dark egg.
If I should still not keep her, I will cull.
Just let me know.
So right now, I have 5 hens total from the first group. The rest have been culled.
My job now is to document egg color on everyone.

She is a square for sure .She has a very large saggy bottom. Almost pendulous. I actually wondered if something is wrong with her but it's been this way for months and she is still alive.

That is great.I'm in the process now of documenting egg color. I should know everyone soon.
The pullet pen has only 1 or 2 that are laying a light egg. There are nice eggs coming from this pen. I just need to find the light layers.
Cockerel pen only has 1, maybe 2 that DO lay dark. A solid #5. The rest are a bit lighter now. They all laid dark eggs in the beginning but not for long.
JR hatched from a very dark egg so I hope this improves egg color in their progeny.
I'm working on it![]()
