International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I am going to try worming him. I don't know if that will help but worth a try. Sad because he doesn't have white in his tail feathers. I am not sure on under fluff.
Worming does help some time. Try to give him vitamin B12 complex if you can get it.
How are you my friend and how is think around you . It is alway nice to hear from you . All the best

Thank you Chooksman! I have B 12 complex and will definitely give it to him. I have not been doing well the last few weeks. My back has been bad to the point it hurts to walk. Some days better than others. I think it's more sciatica then anything. With each step it jars and sends shock waves and pain. Bending over is the worst. I have lost a lot of weight about 65 pounds. Good hearing from you my friend!

Back pain and sciatica are the worst thing I had to deal with that for 7 years . I had to change all my life style to get ready of it . I do sit on lounges and outdoor chairs any more . I only sit on the floor or straight chairs , I do a lot stretching and yoga, plus a lot walking . Now all good but I still have to watch what I m doing.
Health is some thing we always take for granted .
Hope you will get better my friend.

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind me popping in with a question.

I picked up a pair of 8 week old black copper marans cockerels 10 days ago, and they seem healthy. But one of them has a light colored bump on the top of his beak, right at the lower edge of the comb. There are several threads here that show the same thing, and it seems like Marans have this issue more often. And none of the threads resolved what the issue is. The other's beak looks fine.

My guess is that it's just from damage caused by pecking through a fence, or something similar. But maybe it's some kind of virus or infection. Here are some pics of both birds.

Thanks!

I had one like that and it was from rubbing against the wire. So hopefully it's just damaged but I would keep your new ones away from the rest. Just incase any of them might be sick. Better safe than sorry!

I thing to worry about it. Does go away . Just not enough pigmentation on the beak similar to the legs sometime they are pale when the chicks are younger . Soon they do a little growing they legs become darker.
