Just some more photos of the cockerels.
1 is overcolored
1 has shafting

But I am so happy to have them!

My opinion doesn't amount to much but....

I think this cockerel looks chunky and has a wide leg set. He has too much chest color but I believe chooksman says that will help give his daughters nice hackle color. So can't wait to see what he says.

Regardless of the breed, I always inspect my cockerels for attitude towards humans and towards the hens. I like a bird to be enjoyable to work with. No fun watching my back.

He is massive.

I had put them in with the hens but they were not allowed to eat or drink very often, even with several feeders and waterers.

It is too hot right now. The hens take the shade and leave them scared in a corner out in the sun.

So I put them in with the pullets again for now. They are so big that it's hard to realize just how young they are. One just started crowing today finally.

A couple more weeks, I will try putting them with the hens again.

This guy has a wide stance and a narrow stance. He can't make up his mind.

So far, no aggression but no hormones yet.

The colour will molt out . He will have a well coloured chest for sure .
When selecting for body colour we have to wait till they grow older 6 months or more .
