International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Thank you, that’s what I wanted to here. I suspected it was a cockerel based on comb size and color but wasn’t real positive because I’m still pretty inexperienced. It’s still fun to guess. I have 2 that I strongly feel rare likely male and 3 females and 3 wait and see
if you post photos of them with number like chicks 1 ,2 etc you can help you find out ,wiw will be guessing but that is fun ,

Thanks I’ll get some pictures later today when the sun comes up and I get at least some natural light coming threw the windows. That way the camera has a better chance at get the colors correct

@Chooks man
Birds 1-8 are the black copper marans. Number 9 is an olive egger from the same breeding pin as the marans. The breeder had one Easter egger hen in that flock. When I got the 12 BCM eggs I came home with 4 green eggs too. Only one of the 4 OE eggs hatched so I’m really hoping for a pullet and that it received the blue egg gene from her mother. Thanks

@Tstraub
first I have to say this .the breeders you got your eggs from does not breed for a good small comb .loking at all chicks combs I can tell that they parent all have a large combs .making it very hard to tell at the young age because the pullets combs are as large as the cockerels .
ok enough blah blah ...........
this one look pullet to me her comb is large but here body type is of the pullet .
