International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I see you are in Michigan. I got my hatching eggs from a guy outside of Decatur Indiana a little over an hour from the Michigan line I’m not experienced enough to speak of the quality of the birds I have pictures of them in this thread. They guy is only asking $6/dozen.

I set 12 eggs in a modified toaster oven for an incubator. I dropped one while hand turning. 8 hatched out. I’m not sure if he ships or not but if you ever make it south it might be worth looking into. I’m not sure what the rules are on posting links but I found him on Craigslist Fort Wayne area.

Would you mind reposting the pics if you have them?
I'm 2 1/2 hrs from Decatur, totally doable if he has some quality

I'd like to hear more about this toaster oven/incubator. I was just brainstorming the other day when the Warden threw one in the garage sale pile.

These pictures are anywhere from a week old to yesterday they are almost 10 weeks old now. I only have 2 pullets and 2 cockerels remaining. I re homed the other 4 birds because I simply didn’t have room to house them all.

Honestly a cooler or mini fridge probably would have made a more suitable enclosure because the insulation would have kept temperature more stable. The oven was a whole lot funnier. The clear glass front was nice for viewing as well.

Thank you for the link. I have all that and enough skill to burn something down, or electricute myself. Hell yeah...I'm gonna build an incubator.

A mini fridge with a window I need to find.... The gears are turning.

I remember the pics now. I saved the link thank you. I'm gonna check into him and I'll prolly have more questions.
Keep updating pics as they grow so I can learn from your mistakes. 🤣
