International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

She some how got behind a stack of lumber in the barn and couldn't get out. No sound at all and I'm in the barn every day, most all day. A week and 3 days without food or water. She could walk about 3' but had to sleep on the cold concrete. Wow... I'm super happy but feel horrible for her.
Got her inside, she tore thru some feed and tuna and drank a ton of electrolytes and hopefully she's nestled down now on a thick pile of bedding. Her comb is frost bit and she's lost weight but it seems she's doing ok for the moment.
Holy moly....

I’m glad you found her and I bet the tuna helped
I hope so. The pic I took was after bringing her in. The only privacy anyone can get with a 3 year old and animals in the house, is in the bathroom. And even then it's iffy.... 🤣
I just by chance was going after a sheet of 3/4 plywood but had to move a ton of crap first. (I have a lot of crap) and happened to spot a pile of wet poo... 🤔 That's odd and fresh.

Look left behind an old door and spotted her. At first I thought it was just one of the other Marans but they're on storm lock down. After rushing her to the house under my coat, I came back out and seen this.

She didn't lay at all, I'm sure stressed out. Still confused how she didn't make any noise, there's the other birds and I'm cutting wood a few times a day but like when I clean coops it's pretty quiet. She was prolly 3 feet from the ducks pen and I clean that everyday. Such a weight off finding her, but hurts that she was there all the time and I didn't know it.

I wonder if she laid an egg at first on the concrete and broke it. She would have ate egg, shell and all. This would have helped her hang on a bit longer. I suppose we will never know.

Got something like nutridrench? It is made to be rapidly absorbed. Good stuff!

Tuna is great. Scrambled eggs are good too.
I am so happy she turned up! :wee
I really thought she may show up later with babies. She is a really lucky girl to turn up when she did!
