How about some more chicks?

I hatched 6 on 10-9-24 from 2 pullets I sold just to keep the darker eggs in the flock.
I got 4 from Jessi (Joannie's daughter) and 2 from Gloria (Betty's daughter) so these are all F2 but hatched from pullet eggs at 19 wks so I'll watch these to see how they grow out. These 2 were laying the darkest from all the pullets. I'm really happy to have 4 now from Joannie.

I kept them in the house for a few days because of a cold snap we had and got them moved out to the Marans coop on Friday.

It’s been a while since I posted anything in this thread so I thought I would check in and post a few pictures. My only male BCM Axl is now 1 year and 4 months old. He has completed his first adult annual molt. His yellow halo looks a little better but it’s definitely still there. He picked up a lot more white in his tail. The first picture is from August when he first dropped his tail. The rest are today with his fresh new feathers.

Sorry for the terrible lighting lots of shadows inside the run and I don’t have time to let everyone out in the yard today before I head into work

Sorry guys my notifications had stopped for a few weeks! I don’t know why I often get this bug.

I don’t have much to report, expect that I got some Polish bantams yesterday, and Napoleon is maturing very slowly (not worryingly slow).

I’ll respond to anything I see that I’ve missed.
It's nice to hear from you, my friend.

The lighting in the first photo doesn’t do his colour much justice! His genes for markings are spot on, he just wants some more autosomal red. Even if the tail is too big, it’s a good angle. Parasitic white is a shame but I think we’re all in the same boat regarding that.
