So, I had 6 duck eggs under two broody hens; Bella, my speckledy, ended up with 4 baby ducks and Annabel, buff Orpington, none. They are now 36 hours old, and Annabel has decided that she wants to help Bella look after the chicks. Bella was very defensive at first, but they seem to have formed a parenting partnership. Here is a picture of them guarding their babies together.

Very sweet :)

That's adorable. I hope you will be ready to take a picture every time you go out to see them. I have a feeling there will be a lot of priceless moments you will want to share. I certainly would love to see more photos of them : )

2 days old, and we have names - Quacky, Splashy, Tiptoe and Tutu (although which one of us is which, I don't know.) Here is a picture of our mummies trying to teach us how to have a mudbath. They don't know that mudbaths aren't really our thing - just wait until we teach them how to swim!

How neat is that? I guess two moms are better than one! Congratulations on your little ducks!
