Next time do it when they are younger, they're less of a threat than they are when they're almost full grown

I have done it when they are mature. Placing more feed and waterers help, I had to do so for several chicks I introduced back in June.

How big is the area you're trying to transition everyone into?

Coop is 10x10 and run is 25x25
