Intro to the great world of chickens

Hi everyone.
I'm new to this forum and chickens in general. I got great tips and ideas from this website, so I just a have a question or two. But first let me say that I never thought I will fall in love with chickens. I have 2 silkies and they are the sweetest things and very entertaining. I got them when they were about 3 or 4 months old, so I think they must be about 8 months now. I learn new things every day as I go and hope they thrive. First I thought the one is male and the other female, but the one I thought was male is laying eggs. So I'm adding some pics if someone can help with that. White silkie's name is Cremora and black silkie is Truffle. Thanks

Both or your silkies look like hens to me.
Silkies are an awesome breed, I have a few, they are funny birds.
