In the Brooder
I figure I will do a short intro here. We recently started our new flock on our new urban homestead. We live "in town" on almost exactly 1 acre. We have started planting a 50x100 patch this year and started our flock with 6 Red Sex Links (ISA Red) for egg production. This past week we also picked up some Buff Orpington week old chicks and Black Australorp day old chicks that are in the brooder.
Our hen house is courtesy of a family member that downsized their flock and we have enclosed it in a 12x20 covered run. For next year we will likely expand or replace the hen house and add tunnels.
We are also planning to start building a loft to start some white homing pigeons (release doves) this summer.
