1. No, not new to chickens had 2 when I was little. 2 White leghorns. Cant remember how old I was, but had them laying until they passed away, but back in the chicken business. My friend Jenny gave me 2 Faverolles then she gave me two more Ameraucana and she hatched out 3 Faverolle Chicks.

5. I take care of cats, my chickens and Like watching Sports(NFL, College Football, NBA, MLB, Texas High School Football).

6. Have lots of family too many to say. Already mention cats 2 one 16 yrs old the other 3 or 4 yrs old. Work at Whataburger. Just hoping if I have questions about my chickens that BackYard Chicken might can help me. Right now I think I have 4 roosters and 3 hens, but not sure if I have sexed the chicks right. I do know I have 2 roosters and 2 hens; the 3 baby chicks been hard to determine sex for me. They talk about feathers and stuff, but usually only works at 2 weeks old I hear. Also know one of my roosters is old b/c crows less often. He also has an upper respiratory disease. Already gave him Penicillin. Just hope this will be helpfully if I run into problems with my chickens. Thank you

feather sexing is a sex link thing--it only works for crosses where the feather gene is linked to gender.

Many are confused by this. You cannot tell gender by feathering speed if it is a pure breed.

Faverolles are easy to tell by the color of the breast feathers as they come in:

Cockerels's breast feather in black or brown, pullets's breast feather in a very light salmon color.

The EEs will have to be older to tell by Wattles, color on shoulders and the hackle and saddle feathers.
