Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself before I start pestering with questions. . .
No birds in the family currently, but four dogs, a cat, two horses, and 3 aquariums. Looking to get some chickens, ducks and a goose in the spring, so am starting my research now.
My biggest goal in finding this list has been to find a hatchery that sells showgirl chicks--this is the coolest breed ever!!!
If I can't accomplish this, perhaps I will get a lovely silky this year and next year have her sit on some eggs for me! (Seems far cheaper than buying an incubator. . .)
I am enjoying everyone's pictures and beautiful birds!
Oh, my grandfather raised exotic chickens by the way, so I have fond memories of his farm in Missouri--one of my favorite places to be! My grandmother and mother made a quilt for him out of all the ribbons he had won at fairs with his birds, and it was his prized possession up until his death. . .It is fun to see all the beautiful birds again, I always thought visiting his farm was like something out of a fairy tail (the peacocks, exotic pheasants, and sikies, being the most fascinating for a little girl!)
Thanks for letting me jump in
Christy
