AHhh, I dunno what's going on and if it's safe for them. As I set down the line shavings onto their pen, they looked around and nibbled on it.

Pine shavings if eaten can be dangerous, that being said when mine were eating the shavings I completely freaked.
In the end they must not have eaten enough to cause problems, because they are fine.
I would keep and eye on them, but I wouldn't worry.

Been using pine shavings for tiny ducklings up to adults in my run. No issues yet, they pick at it but I've never see them swallow it. They eat the peat moss I put under the shavings - if they can get to it....but it hasn't caused anything to concern me.

Monitor them closely to see if they're eating it or just rooing through it. If they're eating it I'd try alternatives.

Mine would maybe eat them...had this happen to and they where fine. They did have some respiratory problems, but I just added VetRx to there shavings and it worked great!

Are you using the flakes or the fine shavings? Flakes they won't eat. Might pick up with their bill, but generally spit them back out as they investigate with their bills. I have been using flakes since the day I got my ducks, no problems.
