Introducing Me...

Hi
My name is Kris, I have 6 children (3 at home, 3 have left the nest) & 3 gorgeous grandsons. I moved from Auckland to the Waikato (NZ) a year ago & since then my crazy love for chickens (& ducks) has taken me over. I have 7 hens & 1 rooster (pictured with me above). They are of mixed breed..is there a common term used for mixed breed chooks? I also have 3 Muscovy Ducks, 1 drake & 2 hens. I work from home doing wages & accounts for a construction company, coffee breaks & lunch breaks are often spent watching the birds, their behaviour fascinates me...please tell me there are more crazy bird people out there! Lol. I found this site whilst googling answers to questions regarding my new hobby, I'm looking forward to meeting (online at least) some like minded people.

Glad you're here Kristy! I believe our beloved @Teila is in your neck of the woods.

If you haven't yet, please make your chickens a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise.
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!
