(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
A: Yes, I'm new to chickens! We added backyard chickens to our family in August of 2020.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
A: We have 8 chickens.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff Orpington - 2 (Sue & Big Bird)
Blue Plymouth Rock - 3 (Dottie, Tofu & Clucky)
Golden Sex Link - 3 (Jessica, Ginger & Esmerelda)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Spending time with and observing their adorable behaviors and personalities. And of course the eggs!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Hiking, puzzles, exercising, cooking

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Single (Divorced) Mom w/ two kids - a 12-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter. We also have two dogs - a Yorkie/Bichon mix and a Siberian Husky.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I hear Huskies have a high prey drive so definitely keep your eye out when your Husky is near your chickens, or maybe don’t let them be close.

What kind of cooking do you like?? I love all kinds. Unfortunately my husband doesn’t 😂 so if I cook Asian food I’m left eating it by myself usually.
