Have been reading information from this site for about 2 years now and finally decided to join. I have 3 Bard Rock hens and 2 roosters, 1 Cayuga drake, 1 White Laying hen, 1 Welsh Harlequin hen, and 1 quail hen and 1 quail male. I do plan on expanding the ducks once I get the pen here in a few months. I am not new to having animals or fowl, but am new to raising primarily for eggs. I have a lot still left to learn because growing up I really only new about 5 different species of ducks, 8 breeds of chickens. So I am still learning about all of the different breeds and what are bred and raised for which reasons. I also chose to join because I have a question that concerned me a bit. I gathered eggs yesterday and today when I went to fry some up, I got a surprise when I cracked the egg into my pan. Here is the picture I took of the egg with blood in it.
