Introduction

Hello all!

We will be new chicken keepers in a few days, so I was looking for resources about what we are getting ourselves into! We will be re-homing 3 birds for someone who has to get rid of their chickens due to city ordinances. I look forward to perusing the forums and learning from all the experts here. Thanks for recording all your knowledge for us newbies!

Do you have a place set up to keep the birds? DO you know what breeds/genders the birds are?

Ha, well, being completely new to this - they are "breeds" black, brown and white. I don't have any idea, but here is a recent picture. There were 4, but one was a rooster, so apparently he went to another home already. These 3 are hens and they are 5 months old.

Could you get a closer picture of them and I might be able to identify what breeds you have.

I'll be able to get better pictures of them this weekend... need bigger truck for the coop, so can't get them until Saturday.

The pictures are too small and indistinct but, I think the white one is a silkie. I tried to enlarge the photo but nothing changed. Look forward to future pictures, so I can really look them over. Welcome to Backyard chickens.
