I just got my first 6 chickens in April. I live in South Texas where it it quite hot right now. (102 today).
My coop is in the shade, as well as the run which has a canopy. The chickens are panting a lot and I am concerned.
Some people use misting hoses, fans. If you post on your state thread, you could ask how others handle the extreme heat. Just put your state name in the search box and it will come up.
Welcome.
Your birds are doing what they need to self cool with the panting, you may also see themail stand or sit with wings held out from the body. Do they gave the ability to dig down into dirt or sand? You can put or a pan of water for for bathing, use frozen wager jugs, etc or just monitor and see if they manage on their own.
