So sorry I didn't get to meet your personally....You had a wonderful day!!Congrats on all of your placings!! I know you were especially thrilled to win CH Featherleg with all of the Silkies that were entered!!!LOL Good job!!!
You're right..usually I am buzzing around like a bee making sure that I don't forget to speak to anyone...my hubby sat with cmom and PamperedPullet alot of the day because he knew he would hardly see me anyway!!! LOL We'll make it a point to meet each other in the future!!
Here's how I ended up in placings. I showed 7 Silkies and 3 pair of OE bantams:
1st Show: 2nd Show:
1st- 4 1st-5

Vickie, that guy I was standing next to that had the mottled cochin, he was teasing me about hey, you got one FL, you don't need two. You're right, I said, I was happy with the one. I never expected it the second time. Well heck, I didn't expect it the first time! That was a tough class. There were so many silkies there I never thought it was possible, and his cochin was a pretty thing too. We should do name tags next time, huh? I remembered you from Lake City last year. The Careys and CFPBA always do a great job with their show. It's the one I never want to miss. But my daughter after seeing all the pretty silkies asked me yesterday if she could get into exhibition quality silkies (we only have pet quality, although one hen is pretty nice). I told her I don't know squat about how to choose a silkie really. I can't even sex them until they either lay or crow! But if she bugs you about them at one of the swaps coming up, I just want you to know I didn't put her up to it. I told her she had to ask the real silkie people because mom doesn't know anything about a silkie chicken.
Yeah we need some kind of BYC sticker that we can wear so we can recognize each other...need to work on that!!
Here's some of my pics:

Me and my Blue Wheaton OE Rooster/BV
I'm in the background of the pic with everyone at the Pampered Pullet! I tried to get out of the pic for you guys!(I have the tan shirt on).
We showed 4 birds: Pekin Drake, Mallard Hen, Buff Orpington Hen and The Jersey Giant( and we were wrong! With help on here we found out he's a White Orpington!) The Pekin got 2 BB's and 2 1sts, Mallard got 1st and 2nd, and the Buff got RB, 2nd and 3rd.
Not bad for our little clan at their first show ever! We plan on going back with more birds!
Well, I finally got around to downloading my pics from the Inverness show! I had a wonderful time seeing lots of old friends and making some new ones!
I took 6 silkies and showgirls to the show and here are a few pics of them after we got home and settled down. I was thrilled with their placings!
Here is Lilly, my white silkie hen. She is the sweetest, quietest chicken I have. She took, 1st Place, Best of Variety, Best of Breed and Reserve Champion Featherleg in show 2!
This is Jasmine, my white showgirl hen. She took 1st Place and Reserve Variety in both shows.
This is Roy, my blue silkie cockerel. He took 1st Place and Reserve Variety in show 2.
And finally - Here is Sam, my white showgirl cockerel. He took 1st Place and Reserve Variety in both shows.

Lisa, congrats - those pics are awesome! I really enjoyed attending my first "big" show, and it was great to see everyone and meet more BYC members. I didn't show anything, but I purchased supplies from The Pampered Pullet and a cage from c'mom and bought my first pair of OEGB bantams (a black hen & blue cockerel). The hen, newly named Aunt B (the cockerel is her nephew), promptly went into molt. High Roost Ranch, IndigoEgg, & Vickie, congrats on your wins, and Vickie, tell your DH if I get up the nerve, I might show my birds at Lake City.
