When we are residents or visitors of a country we implicitly agree to live by the laws of that country. In the US we are free to leave and I'm thankful for that. I'm also thankful that I live in a country where I have the right to express my views and have my grievances heard.
Who makes these laws?
We do, through our elected representatives. The US government is supposed to be just that: US. (Although a good case could be made that today it is really the big corporations. But that's another rant for another forum.)
