Yes that is my plan, whether I ever figure out what they are or not. They do respond to staying away from or dying when I spray my clothing with "Off", and when I spray the furniture with Lysol! So it seems they aren't hard to actually kill.....Thanks for the good ideas about washing out the food bowls etc....
I have large sheets of plastic over the walls to prevent drafts, and it would be really difficult to take them down and replace...but I'm wondering if I should do this? REally really don't want to get into all that.
Hoping the permethrin i ordered will kill it.

I'd remove the chickens, their feeders, and waterers, then mix up the spray according to direction, and spray everything down real good. Wash all the feeders, waterers, with soapy water, and rinse. Dust the chickens. When the coop is dry, return the chickens into it. Repeat in 7 days, to kill the ones that have newly hatched. Regardless of what type of mite/lice, etc. that you're dealing with, this is the most effective method of treating an infestation. DE is not effective, and causes respiratory issues.
