Invisible pest

Three days ago, as I started my morning routine of getting my 5 birds out of their crates on the back porch to spend the day outside, something creepy ( literally) happened. It felt like crawly things going up my arms and ending at the top of my head. I inspected myself and all the birds and found nothing. I bought some Poultry Protector and sprayed them down rather inefficiently (one of them is a guinea). My son's vision is better than mine so I had him check. Nothing. I'm still getting the reaction when I pick them up. The itch lasts till I take a shower. Any ideas? I don't want to start a chemical war without a diagnosis.

any chance since you cannot see the 'enemy' that you are moving about in spider webbing and that is why it feels crawly and creepy... the web moving over your skin?

Are you sure they don't have mites? Those things can be mighty teeny.

Its probably mites you can dust you fowl with sevin dust and that may get rid of the problem.
